Hello,
Thanks for looking at my channel. I've been a soloist since 1987. Before that, I played in local bands since 1973. Started playing guitar when I was 5. Now, I'm performing my solo act in S.W. Florida. I play guitar, piano, banjo, lap steel, as well as create ALL my backing tracks. I'm an ear player. I do not read music. I just listen to the song and figure out how to play all the instruments. My channel has quite a variety of styles that I can play. I've reached the 1000 th song I created as a backing track lately. I have them all stored in my Yamaha keyboard internal memory so I can play any song at any time it is needed.

CLASSICAL GAS cover by Jay Smith
Mason Williams recorded this song back in 1968. I was 9 years old and wanted to learn this song back then, but couldn't finger pick. I'm a flat picker and people always discouraged me not to play it with a pick. Over the years, I developed the version you see here. The sequence track was made entirely on my Yamaha MOXF6 keyboard. I added a few changes in the song to make it fit my style. So, yes... You can play a modified version of this song with a pick. I'm using a lefty Maton Blackwood acoustic/electric direct into the mixer

Carole King wrote this great song and let James Taylor record it back in the early 70s. I've always loved JT's acoustic version. Decided to learn the piano, bass, congas to make a simple backing track. Using my lil Breedlove Discovery Concert guitar. It has an LR Baggs Element VTC pickup which sounds fine when you finger pick. The backing track was made on my Yamaha Moxf6 keyboard workstation.

my brother passed away in April this year. He use to sing this song to his children. They wanted me to learn it and post it up on youtube. This is my version of a great Dire Straits song. It was difficult to make the synth sound on my Yamaha Moxf6, but after a lot of testing and sample arranging, I found a sound that is pretty close. The backing track was completely created by me on this keyboard. No software or Daw was used.

Hadn't video'd this song since I learned the song back in 2015. Subtle changes to this version, cut out one of the verses to shorten the song a bit, but left the solo's in tact. This song was on the Fabulous Venture's album in the 1960s. I learned every song on that album over 45 years ago. Still enjoy playing them in my solo gigs. Using my Orange CR120H with a PPC212OB cabinet. This amp does more than just over drive and metal/thrash. sorry, I just play it, but never figured out a tab. It's not real hard. Listen to the original sax solo. there is tabs for the sax solo online. I basically just play what the sax player plays

Thank you for the nice comments. I am my worse critic when it comes to playing something flawlessly. I learn each section of the song one at a time till I have that part in memory. Then I move on to the next part. After I learn 2-3 sections, I then chain them together till I can play it correctly. The best thing I ever did is video these songs when I am learning them. It puts a little extra pressure on me to play it start to finish the way I expect myself to play it. If I mess up, I start over and try again. What you see in these videos is me playing the song all the way through for the first time. I spend hours and hours creating the backing track on my keyboard's onboard sequencer. Sometimes, that is harder than playing the guitar parts. Anyway, thank you again.

Thank you for the nice comments. I appreciate that you enjoy my guitar playing. This song was requested from many people wanting me to learn it. Since I couldn't sing it without major adjustments to the key, I decided to create my own instrumental version. I play this song at nearly every one of my performances. 🙂

I first watched videos of yours eons ago playing "Good Hearted Woman" and "Unchained Melody" on an Agile AS820 (the one with the Lipstick Humbuckers). I had the same Agile guitar at the time. You still sound great!

Sorry, no tabs. I'm an ear player when it comes to figuring out a song. With these songs, I figure out the drums, bass, piano, and strings, so I can lay those tracks down on my keyboard sequencer. Then, I can play my guitar and sing with the track. Thank you for the compliment and for watching my videos.

yes, I remember Big Time Wrestling using the bridge section of the song as the theme music. Rocks of time was my first 45. I was 14 yrs old. 50 years have passed since that 45. I still sing that song. Boy, has time zipped by.
